ATS and Wheelchair Solutions Win Statewide Excellence & Innovation Award
On Wednesday, February 8th, ATS and Wheelchair Solutions received the 2012 Excellence & Innovation Award at the Aging Services of Minnesota Institute. This award celebrates older adult services organizations that develop new and innovative programs that benefit their residents and communities. Wheelchair Solutions was honored for its use of technology and pressure mapping systems that help in selecting the most appropriate mobility device and equipment for individuals. The Aging Services Awards are among the highest honors for aging services organizations and professionals in Minnesota.
One Fell Swoop- ATS made top story in the Minnesota Good Age Journal this month for its work in Fall Prevention.Â
"Falling is not a part of Aging. It does not have to happen," says Kris, a Physical Therapist at ATS. Kris, along with Alissa from Access Solutions helped a couple in Apple Valley assess their home for possible fall hazards and made suggestions to minimize them. These suggestions not only help reduce the probability of falling, they also help reduce the fear of falling. Augustana Therapy Services and Access Solutions Receive Distinguished Minnesota Aging Services Excellence & Innovation Award at Statewide Convention
Access Solutions, a division of Augustana Therapy Services, Minneapolis, is a 2011 recipient of the distinguished Aging Services of Minnesota Excellence & Innovation Award. The highly competitive award is given to older adult service provider organizations for their excellence in developing new and innovative service delivery programs that benefit their residents and communities.
Access Solutions was one of five organizations to receive the award at the Aging Services annual Institute conference, held in Minneapolis Feb. 9-11 for its Longfellow Aging in Place Project in the Building Design, Construction, Energy Conservation or Sustainable Green Design category.
